Price Paid Data – Standard Reports

HM Land Registry publishes open data on prices paid for properties sold in England and Wales. For customers who want aggregated price data for statistical analysis, this standard reports application allows anyone to configure a report for various geographical areas in England and Wales, from the country level down to postcode sectors, and then download the data in a form suitable for use in a spreadsheet or other data analysis tool.

Note: standard reports contain aggregated prices by geographical area. If you are looking for details of individual property sales, please use the PPD report builder instead.

Each transaction is associated with the local authority that existed at the time the sale was recorded. If local authorities later merge, split, or change name, historic transactions are not retrospectively updated.

This means:

• Transactions remain attached to the original local authority reference in place at the time of sale.
• New or reorganised local authorities will not automatically contain all historic transactions that now fall within their current geographic area.
• Users may need to use historical geographic areas to assemble data for current local authority areas.

This is important if you are analysing data for a recently created or reorganised local authority.
